Physical Fitness / Nutrition

All students of TSGI will be involved in a physical fitness program that will benefit their golf game and also their overall health as well.

TSGI has partnered with Gold's gym to provide a gym membership for all of its students. Also contributing to TSGI's physical fitness program is certified golf therapist Mike Via.

Gold gym is conviently located 10 minutes away from Laurel Oak C.C. on Bee Ridge Road.

Tim Sheredy Golf InstituteMike Via also contributes to the physical aspect of TSGI's physical fitness program. Mike is a certified Titleist Performance Institute trainer with an emphasis on junior golfers. All TSGI students will be taken through a 2 hour golf fitness evaluation by Mike that will show where the students are physically strong and where they need improvement. Mike will then develop a program that will address the weaker link issues of the body.

Twice a week all TSGI students will be running three miles with Director Tim Sheredy to help them with the cardio side of the fitness program. Morning golfers will run at 7:30 every Tuesday and Thursday and afternoon golfers will run at 5:00 every Tuesday and Thursday as well.

Nutrition is an extremely important aspect of the TSGI program. All students will be instructed on the proper foods to eat and the proper fluids to drink. What to eat pre round, during the round and post round of tournaments will also be discussed and taught to TSGI students. As well as ideas of what to eat and not eat during normal non golfing days.

Dr. Graham and Jon Stabler also have great ideas and literature on their website that addresses the nutritional aspect of the game and they discuss this information with their students as well during their mental sessions.
