Full Swing

Concerning the full-swing all students will be taught as individuals at TSGI.

At TSGI the main reason we change a golf swing is so that the student can control their golf balls distance, direction, trajectory and spin. TSGI will help the student develop a swing that is simple and uncomplicated and can hold up under full swingtournament pressure.

Through the use of V-1 computer swing technology the student will have their swing analyzed and stored in the computer so that the student will be able to see the changes and progress throughout the school year. DVD's will also be made for the students so that they can have a personal library of their swings. All DVD's will include audio instructions as well.

The first two weeks of the golf program at TSGI will be used for skill testing. A full-swing skill test will be given to each student and the results will be sent to each parent and also stored for comparison for later skill testing evaluations. Each student will be skill tested three times during the golf program. Once at the beginning of the program, the second will be done before Christmas break and the final skill test will be administered at the end of May.

Each student will be given a Swing Blueprint so that they have a full grasp over what changes they are making and why we are making the changes. The first step in TSGI swing analysis is describing to the student why their old swing is making the golf ball behave as it does. The second step is showing and telling them what they must do correctly. The third step involves using innovative drills, training aids and mirrors so that the student can feel the changes that are being made. The final step in the process is to get the student to trust the change on the golf course. All Swing Blueprints will be given to the parents as well.

All students will be taught the following full-swing fundamentals throughout the school year: grip drill, posture drill, aiming and proper alignment procedures, ball placement, pivot drill, proper swing plane and swing path, shot shaping (fade, draw, high and low) and also a sound pre shot full-swing routine. It is extremely important at TSGI that their students understand golf's basic fundamental rules and principles for the full-swing.
